This landing page is a hot mess of a dumpster fire, and I'm not exactly sure what 'editorial direction' you're trying to achieve here. Can I get a refund for the 30 seconds I just wasted?
💀Why It Stinks
- •This navigation menu looks like it was hastily thrown together by a committee of middle schoolers.
- •The meta description is more like a Google search query than a compelling summary - 'Hey, let's write a sentence that would be typed into Google!'?
- •The text sample is trying to be witty, but it sounds like a parody of a clickbait article.
- •I see at least 3 different fonts in use here. Is this a font- experiment or a cry for help?
- •The CTA buttons are a mess - why are there so many?! Can't you see I'm trying to 'Submit' my sanity here?
💡Suggestions
- •Start by getting a professional to look at your website - someone with a functioning eye, preferably.
- •Consider using a design style guide to keep things consistent. Or just a guide to keeping things 'not this chaotic'.
- •For the love of all things holy, pick a font and stick with it. Or better yet, just use Comic Sans and get it over with.
- •Simplify your CTA buttons. We're not trying to win awards for 'Most Creative Button Layout'.
- •If you're going to have a section on 'Our Authors,' at least make sure the author pictures don't look like they were taken by a 2001-era camera phone.
